CV 2012
Subcity Radio
Rejuvenated ailing brand as head of events, organising the logistics and promotion of seven packed-out parties, attracting 4,100 people and profiting the community radio station £12,000, reigniting public interest and helping Subcity regain its place at the heart of Glasgow's thriving arts and music scene - whilst squeezing in my final year of University too. Promoted to Off-Air manager the following year, I continued the brand's resurgence, managing and motivating a steady team of 50 volunteers to create events, design and promotion for the bustling station.
Head of Events, May '09 - May '10 & Off-Air Manager, Jun '10 - Jun '11
Students' Representative Council, University of Glasgow
Represented 25,000 students during a year of profound political unrest in the British higher education sector at an ancient Scottish University. Dealt regularly with British national media as well as directing the organisation's promotional campaigns, social media and web work. Key successes include steering the tone of national reportage on widely-reported protests at the University, hugely bolstering the brand's online presence and organising and promoting a week of talks and workshops by media professionals which attracted record numbers.
Senior Vice President Media & Communications, Jul '10 - Jul '11
Vitamins
Adventurous parties for hundreds in unique and logistically challenging locations. Creative promotional campaigns coupled with high production values and a firm commitment to making every party a story established the new brand as the most exciting event promoter in town. Each event sold out, every event kept the town talking for long afterwards.
